  • drinking water
  • a sense of adventure!

COVID Precautions: While provincial restrictions have been lifted, we are still in a pandemic. Please be courteous to other people's precautionary measures.

For more information visit the AHS website HERE

More Details: We will wear clothes out of the parking area and far enough up the trail to get to a quieter area. The hike requires a moderate degree of physical dexterity and will involve fallen logs, steep inclines/declines, mud, crouching, and some bushwhacking. It is approximately 2.5 km (each way) from the parking lot to the beach. If you miss the group and want to find your way to the beach, stay on the north side of the river and keep walking until you get to the beach. Do not cross any fences; the most prominent trail is typically the best one. Be aware of trails that have washed into the Elbow river.

Location information:  Weaselhead is Calgary's long standing unofficial nude beach. On hot days there are often a number of nude sunbathers present. Occasionally, passers-by end up on the other side of the creek, but this is a mostly really secluded location. DO NOT PARK  ON EAGLE GRAY DRIVE TO SHORTEN THE HIKE.
