Would You Like to Work in the Buff?

Spotted knapweed (PDF) is an invasive species that must be located and removed. The Weaselhead Preservation Society organizes various work parties to complete various tasks throughout the park. They depend on volunteer helpers who enjoy the park to achieve these goals.

This work party will be in the clothing-optional area, which provides a unique opportunity for the die hards among us. The Weaselhead Preservation Society recommends clothes for protection while working, though people do work in shorts and T-shirts regularly.

Work gloves & plenty of water should be considered mandatory for this work project.

Contact with Spotted knapweed can cause skin irritation. Hands and exposed skin should be washed with soap and water following contact with this plant.

As it happens, the work will be conducted near the river where you can rinse off and cool off when ever you want.

Weather Alternate

If the weather is not cooperating, this will be rescheduled for Saturday July 10th. The time may also be shifted to accommodate the heat. Nobody wants to be working in the sun when its 35 degrees!

Why are we hosting this event?

CNR strives to be a "good neighbour" and cultivate productive relationships with other organizations that have overlapping values. In this case, the Weaselhead/Glenmore Park Preservation Society aims to protect and maintain the rich biodiversity of the area for the benefit and enjoyment of everyone in Calgary. Naturism is defined as being "...in harmony with nature characterised by the practice of communal nudity with the intention of encouraging self-respect, respect for others and for the environment." We look forward to the opportunity to demonstrate our respect for the natural environment that hosts a beloved spot for nude recreation in Calgary.
